A couple of hours drive from Bangkok brings you to Pattaya, a virtual paradise for those looking for a great vacation away from the stress of everyday life. Pattaya tourism brings you beachside fun coupled with entertainment of all sorts, great shopping deals and some really lip-smacking food. You really couldn’t ask for more. 

Pattaya has two other beaches as well – Jomtien and Naklua. Both of these are characterised by the more serene atmosphere compared to the noisier Pattaya beaches. These are in fact better for families who want to enjoy the seaside and stay away from the beach hopping crowds.

Geography of Pattaya

Located on Thailand’s east coast, Pattaya is 150 km away from Bangkok. The city has a magnificent coastline which gives it the beautiful beaches. Pattaya is well-connected to Bangkok in the North and Chanthaburi in the South through the Sukhumvit Highway. 

Pattaya Climate

The climate in Pattaya is typically tropical but even then, it has three seasons. The pleasant weather is during their ‘winter’ which is in the months of November to February. The heat is manageable, and the humidity is barely noticeable. This is when most tourists flock to Pattaya.

From March to June is the summer which is rather hot and extremely humid, making it sticky and uncomfortable to be in the city. Rains sometimes begin in May, but the actual rainy season is during September and can last till October and the humidity is still high. Pattaya tourism really takes off in the winter months of November and December.

Places to see in Pattaya

There are lots of things to do in Pattaya and plenty of places to see. While Pattaya hasn’t been able to completely distance itself from its seamy reputation, today there are several hotels and resorts that are actually geared towards ensuring that families have a great time here. Water Parks in Pattaya

If the beachside is too crowded for your liking, then a visit to one of the many water parks should meet your needs. Thailand’s largest water park, Ramayana Water Park is in Pattaya and has excellent water slides and water park activities that will keep you occupied for a long time.

Another water park that is bound to bring smiles on the faces of the little ones is the Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark which is a theme park and has live performances by well-known characters from the Cartoon Network. 

Parasailing in Pattaya

It’s an adventure like no other! Enthusiasts who love an adrenaline rush will find themselves parasailing over the blue waters and feeling the wind ruffle their hair as they sail above the boats.

It is a common sight to see colourful parasails bobbing gently in the air while sometimes boat drivers allow the parasails to dip into the water before speeding up and letting them rocket back into the sky. If you love thrills and chills, this should definitely be a part of your Pattaya tour.
